Cover Girl and Olay The Depuffer Eye Concealer Makeup Review

I bought this concealer at Walgreen's on a whim, because it was on sale for buy one, get one 50% off. It has a cool metal applicator and the depuff drew me in. I have used it all up at this point, so I really enjoyed it.

Apply a dot under each eye and massage the product around with the metal applicator. Blend with your finger or brush. It is definitely soothing and helps calm the skin around your eyes. The product solution is great for blending. I think this is a great department store concealer.

Prestige Syn-Ake It's Skin Mask Sheet Review

I bought this face mask a few months back and finally took the time to use it. I have tried makeup by It's Skin, but this is the first face mask I have used. I was lured by the beautiful packaging and the title, Prestige Syn-Ake. It is amazing the ingredients you can find in beauty care. It says this product contains snake venom. How cool!

I had to laugh when wearing this face mask. I've seen pictures of others using similar products, and they look a bit spooky. I'm not sure I'd recommend wearing it next to your boyfriend or husband. My boyfriend was a bit scared to look at me. I just kicked back in bed and applied the mask. You'll want to lay back on your pillows or in a bath because it will take 15-20 minutes, and you don't want it to fall off. Once finished, peel off, toss, and let the excess product absorb in your skin. It's as simple as that!

I like how tight my face felt after I used Prestige Syn-Ake face mask. I will definitely use them again. It would probably be best to use this product before you start your day, so it can work its magic all day long. It's Skin is an awesome brand I highly recommend looking into. Check back for more upcoming articles on It's Skin products.

Mercat Bistro Dallas Texas

A few weeks ago I went to Mercat Bistro here in Dallas, Texas with the boyfriend and his mom. We were out looking for a new place to rent, and his mom suggested we try out this restaurant. They were technically closed, as it was 2PM, but they were staying open for some reason, and said we could stay. When the boyfriend's mom went in to the restroom, she saw the Governor was having lunch. We were dining outside, and I never went in the Bistro, but I still thought it was cool we were the only ones present. It was such a lovely day! Sometimes, I would like to have snow sometimes, but on days like the day above, I don't really miss snow.

I really love the location of Mercat Bistro. As you can tell in the picture, the plates are beautiful. We tried the charcuterie for our appetizer, and I ordered the French onion soup as my lunch. I also ordered a black hat, which is an espresso shot on top of vanilla flavored cream. It's delicious! I also enjoyed everything else. I will definitely return and try more.

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! Happy weekend!

January Ulta Beauty Haul 2015

Last Sunday I went to Ulta for the first time. It was so exciting, but since I went in with a plan, I didn't get too distracted. I stuck to a few particular items, and in the future I would love to wander around the aisles for awhile (preferably with a limited amount of money in my wallet). I'm so bad, because my bf gave me $50 spending limit for my first Xmas, and I bought everything for well under $50 until you got to that little stand right before check-out, and since I'm such a sucker, I bought the StriVectin in the center of the photo above without knowing anything about it. I just saw under-eye wrinkle cream, and I grabbed it. And when I got to the register, the sample size of this stuff cost $15. I haven't decided if I like it. It burns a little if I use other products under my eyes first. I know there are certain ingredients that shouldn't mix, so I will have to get some education on that. I think it was mentioned in an Allure or InStyle magazine article a few months ago. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, let me know what facial cosmetic ingredients you shouldn't mix. I'll do some research, as well, and do a follow up article with the information.

We finally got the BF's truck today. It's looking good, and they washed it up, so it's sparkling. We did really good with that, and then on the way there, we realized we locked both of our keys in the house with our house key. So we were locked out, and had to go get the key from the landlord. It was a little stressful, and comical at the same time, because I was about to buy one of those stash rocks to hide spare key. So guess what I'm buying tomorrow? A spare key and a stash rock. You can buy the stack rocks on Amazon for like $5. It's worth it now that I tore up my arm trying to use a hockey stick to unjam our door jam. Lol! You should've seen us!

Clearly Chic Deluxe Cosmetic Organizer Set

On Saturday I went to Home Goods for the second time. I am obsessed with that store! I scored the cosmetics organizer by Clearly Chic for about $20 and a hamper for under $20. There were so many types of hampers, it was fun. The bf and I went back and forth for a good ten minutes over size, pattern and convenience. We really do overanalyze everything!

Today has been a busy day. The bf and I went to pick up his truck with the replaced tires after they were stolen, and the insurance company put 17 inch tires on when it should've been 20 inches. His truck looked really funny and we have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up. It's been such a hassle and almost a thousand dollars after the deductible. It's really sad all of the hassle because of the greed of others. If anyone out there has expensive tires, keep your cars locked up or insure them. It will probably be worth it if you live in a city.

Hope y'all had a great day!

My UW-Wisconsin Love Outfit

Hey, y'all! I meant to write yesterday, so sorry to keep ya hanging. Sunday was technically one of twelve special days I cannot wait to continue each month. I had fun shopping and eating brunch at Blue Mesa Grille. Home Goods is a kick A store! I scored some adorable clear cosmetics organizers and a hamper, so I can take my laundry to a cleaning service in a cute carrier. I also went to Ulta, which was so fun. It was my first time, and I went in with a mission, so I didn't get too distracted.

On Saturday I wore my UW-Wisconsin leggings from Victoria's Secret. I'm originally from Wisconsin, so I like to wear them in support. My gray top and red tank top is from Forever 21. I also wore Ugg boots.

I hope y'all are having a great week so far!

Ipsy Glam Bag January 2015

I better write about the Ipsy January Glam Bag before the month is up. I am such a huge fan and supporter of Ipsy. I love the idea, and for $10, I think what you see above is worth a ten spot. If you want to sign up for Ipsy after reading this post, you can use the referral link, and we all win.

I basically loved everything in my Ipsy bag this month. I haven't really had any complaints, though, so I've really loved them all. The only complaint I really have is the size of the bag for my own personal use, but I am still happy because I can gift the bag to someone else who can use it. My favorite glam bag was in September of 2014, because it was the most spacious. I have only been an Ipsy member since September of 2014, so I am unsure of previous bag sizes. I still think all of the designs are adorable.

Below is a list of all of the things that came in my bag. I love how Ipsy will customize your bag based on your eye and hair color, along with skin tone, and other details. It makes the bag feel more personal, and you are getting items you can actually use. I hope y'all enjoyed this post. Stay tuned for details on the February Glam Bag.

Sephora Beauty Haul January 2015

I love shopping online at Sephora. Not only can I shop from the comfort of my home, but I love using Ebates to get extra money back, along with all of the free stuff. I have not been in the actual Sephora, so I do not know what kind of perks are different in-store vs. online, but I should find out soon enough, since there is a Sephora here in Dallas in the Galleria Mall. I'll get back to y'all on that one.

I shopped at Sephora because I have been wanting to try the First Aid Eye Duty Triple Remedy. I was trying to find the cheapest deal online, and I think you might be able to save more if you buy it through Dermstore if you put it on your favorites list and purchase it that way, along with using your Ebates return. If anyone wants to sign up for Ebates after reading this blog post, you could use my referral link, and we both win.

The other item I purchased is the Soap & Glory Sexy XL Extreme Plump Collagen Lip Shine. This is the first of the Soap & Glory products I've tried, but I really like it. The gloss has a nice minty flavor, and is just sticky enough that it isn't goopy, but gives off a good shine. I also love that the gloss tingles. I'm not sure how plump my lips get, but they certainly get a bit of a flushed pink look to them, even though it is a clear gloss. I do like the way my lips look, so it was worth the buy.

All of the other items I scored as freebies. I gave the Jay-Z Gold cologne to my boyfriend, after I realized it was men's cologne (I don't know why that didn't register). I am obsessed with the larger B. by Balenciaga perfume sample. It has a fresh woodsy note that I just love. I am reminded of how I love the Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt, but this has a twist with a fresh lily of the valley and edamame note at the start. You have to wear it around to get the full experience. I also love the Dolce by Dolce & Gabanna perfume, as well as Tory Burch's new fragrance. The full-sized bottles are so lovely. The Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer is wonderful, of course!

I hope you all enjoyed this Sephora Beauty Haul. I would like to start creating more haul posts. They are so fun, and I love watching other Youtubers, or reading other bloggers talk about what they bought. Keep shopping, y'all!

Today's Outfit and Gone Girl Spoiler Sort Of

TGIF! All of our appliances are back up and working properly, and I can get busy doing laundry all weekend. It's amazing how much you really miss something when it's gone! And I have a new dishwasher to try out.

Today I wore my pale blue pants from Stein Mart. I cannot remember where I bought my shoes, but they are booties that dip in the front and have a little bead dangle on the zipper. I'm wearing a teal, short sleeve one-piece from Forever 21. My necklace is also from Forever 21.

I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend! The boyfriend and I are trying some new traditions this year. We've decided to start having Christmas once a month on the 25th like a sort of 12 days of Christmas concept. He thought it would be fun because he likes to give presents. And we wanted something to plan on every month since we LOVE Christmas. We won't keep up Christmas decorations year round or anything, and the real Christmas is still going to be just as epic, because I love giving presents more than I like receiving. And as weird as it might sound, he was sort of inspired by Gone Girl, because he liked how the two main characters had sweet traditions. Obviously we would not be condoning cutting off heads or anything. And I'm not planning my own fake murder. Lol!

There Are No Fashion Rules!

On Wednesday I decided to wear my white crop pants with my knee-high boots from Forever 21. My jean blazer is from Ralph Lauren. I know, it's white after Labor Day, but it looks so cute! But for real, I don't even care if there are fashion rules or not. Just wear what you love. Even if you want to wear the same thing for a month, who cares as long as it is clean. Ok, that was my Friday in your face.

The Lego Movie Inspired Karl Lagerfeld Chanel Manicure Tutorial

I was inspired by The Lego Movie Karl Lagerfeld when I created this nail design. Make sure when you do this design you have a good black polish or have a generous amount when drawing. I had issues with it drying and getting stringy. You will need a black, gold glitter, light pink, white, light gray, and clear nail polishes. You will also need a scrap piece of paper, a dotter tool and toothpick.

To make Karl Lagerfeld, you start with the light pink polish on the dotter with the side that has a larger ball. You could paint your whole nail, but I just painted an oval with the dotter. After the pink polish has dried for a few minutes, create an M-shape with the white polish at the top of the oval. Let that dry for a minute, and create light gray lines with the toothpick in the white polish. Use the dotter and make two black dots under the M-shape. Connect the black dots with a line and put two lines at each outer end of the dots. Use the dotter to turn your two black dots into upside down triangles or ovals. My hand slipped, so you get what you get, unless you want to start over. NO! Lastly, make a crooked black line  with the toothpick under the black glasses for a mouth.

On each of the other nails you create one large heart on any finger you choose, a CC Chanel symbol, a capital N with a period and a hovering O, a large black heart, and a gold glitter finger. It is easiest to create the CC and N.O finger with a toothpick. I used the large side of the dotter to create the heart. Finish with clear polish.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Let me know if you would like to see anything in particular. Have a wonderful day!

Yesterday's Outfit and Update

Yesterday I wore my black and leather pants from a boutique in NYC. I'm also wearing boots and a chartreuse top from Forever 21. My zipper vest is from Body Central.

I hope y'all liked this outfit. The other night someone stole the tires off of my boyfriend's truck, so things have been hectic. My washing machine is out of order, so I need to take my laundry to a cleaning service. I was pleased to learn my landlord is replacing our dishwasher when he initially said he wouldn't. Little by little we are getting it together. I plan to blog more in the days to come.

Lush Hello Gorgeous Gift Set

Last weekend I went to Lush in the Galleria Mall for the first time. It smells so good when you walk in, and you have plenty of options. I wanted to try multiple things at once instead of spending a lot on one large item. A woman helped me find a gift box with multiple popular items. I chose the Hello, Gorgeous gift box. It has all of the items in the image above for under $50. This gift set would make a wonderful gift for Valentine's Day, or just for someone you love. I know I am going to love trying everything. It all smells too good to use.

Grand Lux Cafe Dallas Texas Brunch

On Saturday I went to the Galleria Mall for my first time since moving to Dallas. I was feeling ambitious, and we got there around 10AM. Most of the places to dine were not open that early, but Grand Lux Cafe was. I've also never been to Grand Lux, so it was a great day of firsts.

I'm not sure if any of you have been there, but I guess it is a part of the Cheesecake Factory, so think lots of yummy, high-calorie dishes. The boyfriend had been to Grand Lux before, so he knew what to recommend, because if you have never been there, the menu is extensive. We ordered Asian nachos (to die) for our appetizer, eggs benedict, and a cup of the creamy chicken soup. You get six large nachos on wonton crisps, which are so amazing with a peanut sauce and wasabi aoli in the Asian nachos. I could have had my three as my meal, they were so filling and rich. I ordered the soup, which was also rich. I didn't actually try the eggs benedict, but the boyfriend loved them.

The meal sat heavy in my stomach, so I only went to Lush and went driving around looking for a new home to rent. So if you plan on shopping, I would either choose very light items from the menu, or eat once you are through with shopping. Check back later tomorrow for an update about my trip to Lush.

Thinking of Spring in January Outfit

My teal scalloped flats are from Stein Mart two summers ago. I found the peach pants at Body Central last January. My lacy sweater is from Forever 21, which I bought two years ago. The white button up shirt is also from Forever 21.

I apologize for the delay, y'all. On Friday I had plumbing issues that took all day and is running into today. I'm behind on all of my chores, so I have my work cut out for me when the dryer and dishwasher gets put back together. But the kitchen sink is unclogged, so that's a relief. Make sure you're careful what ends up in the disposal. Somehow one of my dish wash cloths went buh-bye.

I'm also in the process of looking for a new place to live. There are a few things on our wishlist the boyfriend and I would like to find in our next rental. We have two dogs, so we would like some type of yard. We would also like updated appliances, and better insulation and window sealing. Now I feel like someone on House Hunters. Our electricity is so expensive, and our landlord stated he will not replace any of the outdated appliances once they fall apart, and they are on the fritz. So it's time to go. I love looking for new homes and moving to new places. Change is wonderful!

I've also made the decision to take off of school this semester since we plan to move. There are many other reasons I've decided to wait one more semester. I think I'll be happier taking my time and finishing when I can be most successful. In the meantime I can focus on my blog and work.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Throw on a Cardigan and Mod Polka Dots

Adding layers to this adorable outfit because it's a bit chilly and cloudy lately. My red cardigan and polka dot sweater are from Forever 21, bottoms are from Tommy Hilfiger, and the booties are from Marshall's.

School starts next Tuesday. It should be my last semester in college. This whole thing came together kind of goofy, because I moved around the country and transferred schools. But as I feel everything happens for a reason, I am just happy to be the first in my family to graduate college with a bachelor's degree. I am a nontraditional-type student paying for my own schooling, so it has taken me a little longer to get here. It's hard to say if my classes will fall in line since I live in Dallas, and my university is over an hour away. Gas isn't cheap! I've been an online student, but there is a chance I can only graduate if I take one of my required courses at the school. I'm nervous about what will happen. I have been praying, and already I was able to get in one more online course that had one spot left. There is still plenty of time, so anything can happen.

     Pray for me!

Fire XBOX Sushi Drive Thru Dallas Texas

The other night my boyfriend found a drive-thru with high ratings in Dallas while he was looking up places to eat online. It's called Sushi Fire XBOX. If you are in the Dallas area, I highly recommend seeking out this drive-thru.

We drove over between 7 and 8pm Central time. I was skeptical about the fact that it was sushi in a drive-thru, but once we ordered and waited outside of the window, my mind was swayed. The restaurant used to be a Taco Bell, and the sign above bold screaming, "Sushi" makes you think twice before stopping. But I assure you, STOP!. My boyfriend read all of the reviews and was convinced it was worth a try.

While waiting for our food after ordering, it smelled so delicious, I could tell the food would be good. You could see them making everything fresh, and the sushi vinegar is wonderful. I just ordered the chicken fried rice to be safe, and it was amazing. The photos above are from the next day when we went back, and I decided to order cheater sushi in the bottom photo.

Let me know if any of you try it or have already.

Polka Dot Mod Outfit Idea

Today I am wearing camel wedge booties from Marshall's. My pants are Tommy Hilfiger. I am also wearing a polka dot, 3/4 sleeve sweater from Forever 21.

Much of my fashion is inspired by classic or mod looks. I really enjoy Modcloth and Ruche. When I go to other stores, I think of items that will have an everlasting look because I much prefer to stretch my dollar. Don't get me wrong, I like to splurge, but how great is it to say you can make a $15 item last years. Pretty cool! I feel cheated when I can only wear one clothing item for one season. But it's not unlikely when you wear that item almost every day like me. Lol!

I would love to see your mod outfits. Find me on Instagram @dressdynamicdallas or #dressdynamicdallas. Let me know what kinds of items last you years.

What's In My Bag?

I'm working on downsizing the amount of items I carry in my purse, but this is what I have on me at all times, give or take a few receipts or other such nonsense.

Right now I am carrying a vintage Chanel fur purse. In it I have my Hobo International snake skin wallet. I usually always carry some sort of Excedrin or ibuprofen. I'm a member at Cooper fitness center, so I always have my pass. I have one of several pairs of sunglasses on me, typically. The pair of sunglasses in the photo are Kenneth Cole Reaction. I also have an Ipsy bag I carry my mascara, lip balms, concealer and powder. I'm carrying a full size Dove deoderant, because I never think to buy the minis, and I really don't notice it (until I switch to minis). The little book off to the right is my Remembrance book a friend gave me to write all of the moments I feel God has blessed my life. Under the book is a gift card to Pampered Soles for a mani/pedi. The sweet cat booklet is a notepad, which I always find handy because you never know when you need paper.

I love sharing bits of my life with, y'all. Let me know what you carry in your bag. Tag me on Instagram @dressdynamicdallas or #dressdynamicdallas. I'd love to share your pictures on my blog.

Cute Pastel 2014 Outfit Idea

Last year I wore this outfit to the office. I am wearing scalloped, turquoise flats from Steinmart. My gray, pleated pants and pink heart sweater are both from Forever 21. You can find a tutorial to my nails on my blog. These colors went well together, and it was so comfortable.

     Enjoy!

Negative Space Cherry Red Manicure Tutorial

I've been seeing the negative space manicure all over the place, and I have been dying to try it. As you can tell in the picture, I'm still an amateur, but you get the idea. If I can do it, so can you.

You need a cherry color nail polish, a base clear coat, or oxygen coat like I have, and ten piece of tape. Apply the clear coat first. Let that dry, and then put a piece of tape with the corner pointed to the center of each nail. Apply the cherry nail polish over the tape. Let that dry for a few minutes, and carefully peel back the tape. Make sure the red polish has had at least ten minutes to dry before you apply the top clear coat or else the red will bleed into the negative space. All done!

Gold Triangle Boho Nail Tuturial

Start with clear nail polish. Apply two coats of white nail polish. Make gold triangles on each nail. I just applied one coat of gold polish. Lastly, create three black dots near the cuticle on each nail with a dotter or toothpick. Finish with a fast dry, clear top coat.

My Hair Care Routine

I have been growing my hair out for several years now. I have also refrained from dying it for over eight years. I'm not very good at heading to the salon, so I usually get two or three hair cuts a year on average. I don't like a hair cut that requires a lot of maintenance. Most of my cuts are layered to enhance waves and volume. Recently I headed to Frederic Fekkai in Dallas, and I love the way the layers and pieces grew out. I'll definitely be going back to Tony!

Right now I am using the PRX Reparatives Shampoo from Fekkai and Suave Professionals Conditioner with Almond and Shea Butter because my conditioner always runs out faster than my shampoo, and I have a lot of conditioner. I don't wash my hair every day. I usually wash it about four or five times a week. I have also been using samples from my Sample Society and Ipsy subscriptions. I'll write about these products in the future.

Typically after I wash my hair, I will comb through it and blow dry it until it's mostly dry. It has natural wave, but some of the time I will take different sections and twirl them into ringlets around my head, spray them with hairspray, and let them air dry. If I have a piece or two of hair that dries weird, I will use my straightener to add some wave to it. Sometimes I also brush my hair, but I don't always remember or I like the texture of it not brushed (My hair is brushed in the picture above). I also have a sensitive head, so I don't always like to brush.

Let me know if you go the more natural route with your hair, or what is your routine. I would love to know. Leave a comment below!
