YouTube Channel Coming Soon!

flowers in my backyard

Hey y'all,

I've been watching a lot of YouTubers lately, and feeling inspired. I'm very shy, and a live camera or audience makes me nervous, but I hope that with a few videos, I will get more comfortable. My videos will include fashion, beauty tips, life experiences, travel, my handmade jewelry and much more. I know very little about creating and editing movies, but I hope to improve with time. It's so fun looking at other YouTuber channels and seeing their advancement over time.

Now that I live in the heart of Dallas, I want to bring the city to life for those around the world, as well as any other places I might find myself. In time, I would also like suggestions on where to visit in or around Dallas, as well as other locations. I am adventurous and crave new things, along with change. It is the only constant. I can't wait to share Dallas and other wonderful places with all of you.

Summer Spotify Music Playlist

Summer is almost officially here, and these are some tunes that sound hair down and wind blowing good. Turn these songs up loud and enjoy! If it's too loud, you're too old.

Stephanie

Ultimate Summer Reading List : Over 300 Books

THE ULTIMATE SUMMER READING LIST

Click the link above to choose from over 300 books. Below are select few.

I have been collecting this reading list for a very long time. Between reading suggestions and books I have found on the Yale English reading lists, these are some of the books I desire to read before I die. Since, of course, I am very interested in fashion, there are plenty of fashion books to be found. But for the most part, I believe this list has a little bit for everyone. I hope you can find one you will fall in love with.

xoxo,

Stephanie

Smooth as Butter : Cellulite Talk

Not all of us have been blessed with perfectly smooth skin. Some people have to work tirelessly for it and others don't have to think about it at all. I know I am not one who doesn't have to worry about cellulite. I'm pretty sure the combination of hours surfing the internet starting at 13 and consuming countless bags of chips didn't help the matter, but now cellulite is something I think about from time to time.

Besides reading about it countless times in magazines, I stumbled upon a book which simplifies the matter without expensive creams or extreme diets. Diane Irons wrote a book called, The World's Best Kept Beauty Secrets, that covers a large amount of information in a perfectly-sized book.

HOW TO FIGHT CELLULITE :

 1. Eat plenty of raw fruits and veggies. Although this might seem obvious for some, they are not always our go-to food choices. Some who have a busy lifestyle find it difficult to make the right food choices. One of my favorite blogs is truly inspiring for eating right - 100daysofrealfood by Lisa Leake. You can find menu plans and grocery lists consisting of plenty of fruits and veggies, along with a diet comprised of "real food," which leads us into the next item on our list.

 2. Keep away from processed food. As I pointed out above, 100daysofrealfood basically spoon-feeds people how to eat better. Lisa breaks down what "real food" consists of and how to read labels at the grocery store in order to pick the most healthy options. She also includes a "dirty dozen list" on what to be wary of when shopping at the grocery store. Although it might not be realistic for everyone to completely switch over to a diet made up of 100% "real food," but Lisa is realistic letting us know that even if you can only eat a diet of 75% you are still doing well.

 3. Drink lots of water and stay away from alcohol or carbonated beverages (not even low-calorie). Plenty of water will rid your body of nasty toxins. I read that two-8 oz. glasses of water in the morning is ideal for starting off your day.

 4. Scrub the skin with a loofah, bristle brush, or hard sponge for five minutes a day or use coffee grounds. When scrubbing the skin, always sweep in motions towards the heart. It is recommended that you exfoliate before washing yourself. Most expensive cellulite creams contain caffeine, which is why coffee grounds is said to work.

 5. Exercise three times a week for 30-45 minutes. This does not necessarily have to include weights, as running or walking will also make a difference.

 6. Make a natural homemade remedy. One of my favorite natural beauty books is Drop Dead Gorgeous by Kim Erickson. Not only is it extremely informative about the cosmetics we use every day, but it also includes natural recipes toward the back of the book. Kim includes one recipe specific to cellulite, along with many more daily use cosmetics. I have yet to make any of the recipes, but it is on my summer to-do list.

Aside from stressing about cellulite, most days I choose to live with and love my cellulite. I know there are things I could do differently, but everything is a process and breaking habits takes discipline and dedication. Don't forget you are beautiful just the way you are.

xoxo,

Stephanie

Handmade Obsession

This seems to be a good time to also mention something about my Etsy store, AnotherUse. In winter of 2009 I started selling my handmade jewelry. I'd always loved making friendship bracelets and hemp jewelry when I was younger, but I never thought of selling online. When I discovered Etsy, I was ecstatic. I also sold locally to consignment stores and whoever else were interested in displaying my jewelry. Selling your own creations is one of the greatest joys in life. I have also started selling vintage clothing and accessories, which is also a blast to hunt out in thrift stores.

I also have another blog dedicated to some of my latest designs and Etsy advice for new sellers based on my trials and errors. There is a lot of education out there, but it's difficult to keep up or find time when also working a 9-5 job. So that's where I came in since I was dedicating all of my free time on educating myself and informing others. Check out upcycledjewelrybyanotheruse.blogspot.com

Eventually I would like to merge my fashion blog with my Etsy blog, informing people of noteworthy pointers I learn along the way, and other fun stuff. You can also find more at my Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

XOXO,

Stephanie
